Plus we have a number of internship opportunities for Spring/Summer:

Our Children, Our Future Organizing Intern: This intern will work remotely with our southern regional organizer to help plan leadership trainings and establish rural community groups.

Our Children, Our Future Social Media Intern: This intern will work in Charleston and remotely with staff and partners to create 2-3 memes, blogs, and videos a week – plus other posts. Experience with WordPress and Canva a plus.

WV Healthy Kids and Families Coalition Fundraising Intern: This intern will work in Charleston and remotely to help organize small fundraising events, with key donors, as we build our capacity for the future.

Try This Interns & Volunteers: Try This is looking for media interns of any age who can help write, post, and maintain written, video, and social media content. Some will write short stories about Try This projects for local papers. Some will maintain our social media accounts. You can be based Charleston or work remotely in other parts of the state. We will ask you to come to Charleston for training and for occasional workshops.

Healthy Bodies, Healthy Spirits Intern: This intern will work remotely to help find congregations that are doing healthy projects and activities in their churches and communities. This intern will also research articles that can be posted to Facebook and sent in mailers. This intern needs to be a strong writer, very self-motivated, and experience with MailChimp is a plus.

Wellness Research & Data Intern: This position is for someone who is passionate about health and wellness, loves to play detective, research studies, and find missing links. This intern will help create data sheets using Excel and other documents to compile research and data. This intern will also have no problem making phone calls and accompany the supervisor for light travel in the state.

Strong Mountain Communities Events and Communications Intern: This intern to work 10-15 hours a week to assist in planning our annual WV Good Jobs Conference, plus a number of smaller meetings and events related to our efforts in economic diversification in southern WV.  This intern will also assist in social media and PR related activities.

Volunteers: We are always looking for volunteers to work in the office to do data entry, assist with mailings, make phone calls, assist with office repairs, etc.
